The 11th Annual Huntington Bicycle Challenge presented by Pathfinder Services and Parkview Home Health and Hospice and title sponsored by First Federal Savings Bank took place on Saturday, September 20. 130 participants enjoyed bicycling on five different road courses.
Approximately $9,000 was raised to benefit two causes:
1) Pathfinder Community Supports to assist teenagers with developmental disabilities to attend summer camp.
2) Parkview Home Health & Hospice’s quality, end-of-life care for the terminally ill.
Winning the Business Team Challenge 24-mile course for Fort Wayne Outfitters was Tim Hall, Dodd Kattman, Dave Lewis, Greg Ness, Gary Painter and Henry Swinty. Spokesmen Cycling finished second with their team of Todd Anderson, Joe Bartels, Carl Ring, Wesley Ring, Matt Tescula, and Brendan Wise. Don Cohill, Shaun Fitzgerald, Melissa Leo, Bill Lambert, Matt Misner, and Paul Mowery and Denny Zech representing Fort Wayne Outfitters finished third.
Winning the top All Women’s Team Award was Fort Wayne Outfitters with riders Kathy Boling, Charlotte Schmitz, and Amy Woods. Second place All Women’s Team went to 3 Rivers Velo Sport’s team of Angela Dulcet, Cassie Kline, Susan Morgan, Emily Payonk, Justine Viera, and Mona Will.
