Amramp Helps Family in Need in Fort Wayne

On August 11th Dan Stewart suffered a spinal stroke that changed his life. He used to be able to ride his Harley Davidson and drive his truck but in an instant that changed, and he needed to create a ramp to get in his house from the hospital. He only had three days until he returned home, and fortunately there was a sample Amramp at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne so he called them.

“I called Amramp because I needed a ramp quickly. I explained why I needed the ramp and the immediate need for one as my wife and I had no idea this would happen,” said Stewart. “When I advised them of my needs I had layouts, prices and installation of my new ramp two days later. They took pressure off of me and my wife, because she was thinking how am I going to get him home. For Amramp to turn something around so quickly was impressive,” Stewart concluded.

“It is helping families like the Stewart’s that makes this job extremely rewarding,” stated Ronda Smelser, Regional Sales Coordinator for Amramp. “To be able to help families by providing accessibility solutions that meet their needs is a truly great experience,” Smelser concluded.

Amramp allows for families and businesses to rent or purchase an ADA compliant, low cost, modular ramp, feat

uring a patented non-slip ramp surface. The unique, perforated steel mesh ramp surface has an open pattern, allowing moisture to drain, reducing the possibility of a slippery ice surface or mold build-up.

Amramp offers free home evaluations and meets with each client to custom design the ramp. All of the ramps are installed by trained Amramp specialists. Ramps are available in days, not weeks or months, and most installations take less than a day.
