Furthering Youth Financial Literacy and Homebuyer Education

Pathfinder HomeOwnership Center Receives $1500
from Wells Fargo to further Youth Financial Literacy and Homebuyer Education.

April 18, 2016 (Huntington, IN) – Pathfinder HomeOwnership Center, a NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center is pleased to announce the receipt of a $1500 from Wells Fargo Bank to further Youth Financial Literacy and offer Homebuyer Education to those with low to moderate incomes.

Pathfinder HomeOwnership Center has partnered with Wells Fargo since 2011 to provide financial education and home buyer education to families in Allen County with low to moderate income.  $500 of the donation will be used to support Pathfinder HomeOwnership Centers annual Youth Financial Literacy program held throughout the summer.  During this program, youth ages 12 to 20 learn about finances, budgeting and credit using Wells Fargo’s Hands On Banking program and other curriculum.  Over 70 youth have been educated through this program.

The remaining $1000 is a result of Yenlinh Nguyen, Mortgage Consultant at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, spending time assisting with Pathfinder HomeOwnership Center’s Homebuyer Education classes.  The partnership with Wells Fargo has educated over 800 families about mortgages and the home buying process in the past five years.

“We are very thankful for the continued commitment from Wells Fargo and their staff so that we may continue providing education services to youth and adults in our community,” stated Jan Baumgartner, Senior Director of the Pathfinder HomeOwnership Center.
