While the rest of the world snacks on leftover pie and surfs the web for deals, Pathfinder Services, with the help of AWS Foundation, will be mobilizing their community to double down on #GivingTuesday.
Pathfinder Services is teaming up with AWS Foundation to join the #GivingTuesday movement, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
But #GivingTuesday will look a little different for the folks served by Pathfinder Services this year. Thanks to the generosity of AWS Foundation, all new donations to Pathfinder Services will be matched– dollar for dollar – up to $10,000. In addition, any former donor who increases their gift will have the increased amount matched.
Occurring this year on November 27th, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Following the widely recognized shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this event kicks off the holiday giving season and inspires people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
#GivingTuesday is a global movement that was started by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in 2012. After consumer-driven days like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, millions of people come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live on Giving Tuesday. People embrace this day as an opportunity to raise money for local nonprofits, schools and arts organizations; run food and clothing drives; teach children about philanthropy; encourage acts of kindness; collaborate with their neighbors and celebrate generosity. “We have been incredibly inspired by the generosity in time, efforts and ideas that have brought our concept for a worldwide movement into reality,” said Henry Timms, founder of #GivingTuesday and executive director of 92Y. “As we embark on our sixth year of #GivingTuesday, we are encouraged by the early response from partners eager to continue making an impact in this global conversation.”
