Huntington University Students Partner with Pathfinder Kids Kampus to Offer Gymnastics Classes

Huntington University has again partnered with Pathfinder Kids Kampus, as they are currently providing gymnastics lessons to the Pathfinder Kids Kampus children. Every Thursday this semester, the Pathfinder Kids Kampus 3, 4 and 5 year old classrooms walk over to the Merillat Center to have tumbling and gymnastics lessons from Dr. Jody Davenport’s recreation class students.

The Huntington University students are taking what they learn in their course work and apply that directly with the children from Pathfinder Kids Kampus. The children, in turn, are learning balance, coordination and cooperative play, among many other skills during their time in the gym.

“We are very appreciative of our relationship with Dr. Jody Davenport and her physical education students,” states Lisa Mettler, Pathfinder Kids Kampus administrator. “The activities that the students prepare each week provide the children with the abilities they need to explore and interact with the world around them, promoting their physical development.”

Pathfinder Kids Kampus, Huntington, offers child care and preschool services to children from infancy to age 12. Pathfinder Kids Kampus is a Paths to QUALITY Provider and is the only licensed child care center in Huntington County. Pathfinder Kids Kampus can be found on the web at www.kidskampus.org and is a division of Pathfinder Services, a not-for-profit human services organization based in Huntington.
