Living with Pathfinder

Thanks to Pathfinder Community Supports, Kurtis is truly a part of a much larger family and community.

Pathfinder Community Supports believes that all people with disabilities deserve to live in a warm and enriching home environment in order to attain the most independent, productive and dignified life style possible. Kurtis was born with developmental disabilities. When his mother and caretaker passed away in 2005, his family researched several options and liked what they witnessed and heard about Pathfinder Services.

Pathfinder Community Supports supportive living homes are located in areas that enable residents to participate in and be a part of their community and neighborhood. Each supportive living home has four private bedrooms, four fully accessible private bathrooms, and a common kitchen/dining area and living room area. Each home is fully compliant with the American Disabilities Act. The homes are staffed 24 hours a day by professionally trained and caring Direct Service Providers who work with our residents to build life skills and provide them with choice and control over their own destinies.

Kurtis now lives in a supportive living home provided by Pathfinder Community Supports. He not only benefits from the personalized and quality care he receives from his Direct Support Professionals in the home, he also gained the confidence and skills to acquire and maintain a job at Walgreens. But the best part? Kurtis has gained a family. “I like the guys in my home. We get along and work together to do things like cooking, cleaning and we do fun things like play cards.” He also enjoys his own private bedroom and bathroom that allows for him to have his own space and privacy. This is where he will proudly show off his John Deere tractor collection to anyone who visits his room. In the common living space, he can enjoy activities with his roommates and access support from staff if needed. Thanks to Pathfinder Community Supports, Kurtis is truly a part of a much larger family and community. He is at home.
