Pathfinder Services Kids Kampus Receives $15,000 Grant from PNC Foundation

Posted 07/27/2020

HUNTINGTON, Ind., July 27, 2020 - Pathfinder Services Kids Kampus received a $15,000 grant from the PNC Foundation’s Grow Up Great® program to assist with increased expenses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The grant will help protect the health and safety of staff, children, and parents. Pathfinder Kids Kampus has remained open during the pandemic, though attendance has decreased due to business closures. These funds will provide support as Pathfinder Kids Kampus prepares to return to full capacity.

PNC’s support specifically will provide a new barrier for the front desk to protect staff and parents, professional deep cleaning services for the entire site, and additional cleaning supplies. The funds will also be used to purchase additional toys and play equipment to support social distancing practices and an enhanced disinfecting schedule.

“We are grateful for the ongoing relationship with PNC,”

says Elizabeth Hire, Pathfinder Kids Kampus administrator.

“Their commitment to our success is evident through financial support, in-kind donations to our classrooms, and the volunteer efforts of their staff. We are especially thankful for their generosity during this unprecedented time.”

Over the last decade, PNC has supported a variety of initiatives spearheaded by Pathfinder Services, including providing resources to boost early education, home ownership education and counseling, volunteer income tax assistance, affordable housing initiatives, and Pathfinder’s annual Kids Kampus Turkey Trot.

“It is critical, particularly in this moment, that PNC works to support the health and well-being of our families and their children,”

said Corinna Ladd, PNC regional president for Northern Indiana.

“That is why we are committed to supporting organizations like Pathfinder, who are making an impact by assisting our communities during the challenges of this pandemic environment.”

The PNC Foundation, which receives its principal funding from The PNC Financial Services Group, actively supports organizations that provide services for the benefit of communities in which it has a significant presence. The foundation focuses its philanthropic mission on early childhood education and community and economic development, which includes the arts and culture. Through Grow Up Great®, its signature cause that began in 2004, PNC has created a bilingual $500 million, multi-year initiative to help prepare children from birth to age 5 for success in school and life.
