Now Collecting Items for Hurricane Clean-Up Kits

What is this?

Pathfinder Community Integration is collaborating with the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington, IN to collect and prepare cleanup bucket kits which will then be sent to Presbyterian Disaster assistance located in Louisville, KY.

Starting Monday, September 25th through Friday, September 29th individuals served by Pathfinder Community Supports will accept donations from the community from 9am to noon at the First Presbyterian Church located at 50 E. Tipton Street.  Donations will also be collected on Sunday, October 1st at the same location by the congregation.

The clean up bucket kit is valued at $75 each and includes:

What are we collecting?

1 — 5-gallon bucket with resealable lid

5 — scouring pads

7 — sponges, assorted sizes

1 — scrub brush

1 — pkg. cleaning towels (18 reusable, like Easy Wipes®)

1 — 50 oz. or two 25 oz. bottle(s) of liquid laundry detergent

1 — liquid concentrated household cleaner (like Lysol®), 12 oz.

1 — bottle liquid disinfectant dish soap (like Dawn®), 24-28 oz.

1 — 1 pkg. clothespins, 48-50 Clothesline, two 50 ft. or one 100 ft.

5 — dust masks

2 pair — latex gloves (like Playtex®)

1 pair — work gloves

1 — 24 to 28 count roll heavy-duty trash bags (30-45 gallon, remove from carton)

1 — bottle insect repellant (pump, drops or lotion; not aerosol), 6-9 oz.

Anything Else?

Donated materials for the bucket should be new and unopened and all liquids should be in plastic bottles.  Once the materials are received and sorted by the individuals served by Pathfinder Community Supports, the First Presbyterian Church’s youth group will then package the kits and prepare them for delivery.  The First Presbyterian Church is also accepting monetary donations to defray the cost of shipping the cleanup buckets.  Checks can be dropped off or mailed to the church at: First Presbyterian Church, 50 Tipton Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
