Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Job Responsibilities:

Acts as a mentor, teacher, and support to people with Intellectual and other types of Developmental Disabilities, to assist them to live, learn, and work successfully as an active part of their communities. Provides supports as needed, whether in their homes, day service locations, and/or community settings, to assist them to reach their ultimate potential, while always taking into consideration their dreams and goals for their own lives.

Job Qualifications:

Individual must be of unquestionable character as determined by personal references and background checks. Applicant must supply sufficient recommendations to support the fact that maturity, integrity, and dependability are hallmarks of his/her personality. Preferably one full year successful experience working with people with Intellectual Disabilities and/or other types of Developmental Disabilities. Must have high school diploma or equivalent, or be working toward a GED that successful completion can be achieved within a one year period of time from hire. Must have ability to effectively express one self in written reports, including electronic reporting of documentation. Ability to project a professional image while contacting community resources. Possesses valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Ability to occasionally climb stairs. Ability to physically restrain, lift and/or assist those we serve.

Starting wage of $11.00 per hour and up based on experience.
