Eight individuals served by Pathfinder Community Supports will be participating in the Special Olympic Ballroom Dance Competition on Saturday, July 27th at the Grand Wayne Center in Fort Wayne.
The Pathfinder Foundation assisted in providing funding for the weekly practices the participants have had this year. Additionally, the Pathfinder Foundation provided support to USA Dance/Fort Wayne Dance Sport to fund the competition. Special Olympics is in partnership with USA Dance/Fort Wayne Dance Sport to host this event.
Pathfinder Community Supports dancers that are set to participate include: Elizabeth Abbott, Vickie Cundiff, Elizabeth Koehl, Tom Marshall, Melissa Ruckman, Angel Shepherd, Adam Smith and Erin Wall. Pathfinder dancers have been participating in this event for four years.
More information on the Ballroom Dancing competition can be found by visiting Fort Wayne Dancesport’s website at www.fwdancesport.org. Unified dance partners are needed for next season so that more people who want to participate in ballroom dancing and take lessons can do so. All volunteer partners also get lessons for free.
