Pathfinder Kids Kampus receives grant for over $1.2 million to provide Early Head Start Services

Pathfinder Kids Kampus, the child services division of Pathfinder Services, Inc. received a grant for over $1.2 million over 18 months to provide Early Head Start Services in Huntington County. These funds were made available through the American Recovery and Investment Act.Beginning April 1st Pathfinder Kids Kampus will be providing three inclusive FREE program options, home based, combination (part day program) and center based care for 76 new children birth to three (3) years and expectant mothers who meet the eligibility requirements.

“Early Head Start programs enhance young children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development; assist pregnant women to access comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care; support parents’ efforts to fulfill their parental roles; and help parents move toward self-sufficiency,” stated, Lisa Mettler, Administrator at Pathfinder Kids Kampus. “We are extremely excited to be able to provide critical services for Huntington County children and families” Mettler added.

“The Early Head Start Grant is also an outstanding opportunity for Pathfinder Kids Kampus to create at least ten new professional jobs for Huntington County within the next four months,” stated John Niederman, President of Pathfinder Services. “Through the Early Head Start Grant we will have the opportunity to employ an Assistant Center Director/Early Childhood Specialist, Child/Family Educator, Health Coordinator, Home Visitor, and various other positions,” Niederman added.
