Sheila Crawford and Sheila Allison, both lead teachers at Pathfinder Kids Kampus Child Care Center in Huntington attended training courses at the Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children (IAEYC) conference in Indianapolis.
“It was a great opportunity to gain valuable information from national early childhood presenters. Some of the classes we took focused on discipline using strategies based upon Dr. Becky A. Bailey’s “Conscious Discipline”, stated Crawford. “We heard from Dr. William J. DeMeo on the brain development in children. We gained ideas on enhancing children’s play, simple science, and transforming simple items into learning activities,” Crawford concluded.
