OBRA is a support service for people in long-term care nursing home settings who have an intellectual and/or developmental disability.

What does OBRA do?


Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) provides a support service for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities in long-term care nursing home settings. The program is designed to allow people to stay active in their community and maintain personal relationships with family and friends.

Qualifications

To qualify for OBRA Services, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental
    disability before the age of 22
  • Reside in a long-term care nursing facility
  • Have active Indiana Medicaid
  • Must show limitations in 3 of 6 major life categories
    • Self-Care
    • Learning
    • Self-Direction
    • Capacity for independent living
    • Understand/use of language
    • Mobility
