THE ARC OF INDIANA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO ADDRESS SELF-ADVOCATES, PARENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS ON FEBRUARY 1ST

Besides addressing disability related issues before the long session of the Indiana General Assembly, John Dickerson, Executive Director of the Indiana Arc, will also be discussing the State’s new Objective Based Allocation (OBA) system.   These and other disability topics will be presented on Tuesday, February 1st at 5:30 p.m. at Easter Seals Arc located at 4919 Projects Drive, Fort Wayne, on the Easter Seals campus off Coldwater Road.   The event is free.

Objective Based Allocations is the new process for determining funding allocation for individuals on the Developmental Disabilities and Autism Waivers.  The OBA is expected to create significant changes in funding.   The OBA emphasizes day services, behavior management, and employment to fulfill meaningful day experiences.

Self-advocates, parents, guardians and interested family members are highly encouraged to attend.   This event is sponsored by the Northeast Indiana Disability Advocacy Coalition.   It is the mission of the Coalition to be a common voice and advocate for equal opportunities on behalf of the disability community.
