What are the qualifications for employment at Pathfinder?

1. What are the qualifications for employment at Pathfinder?

  • For all positions: Must be 18 years or older and have clear background checks.
  • Direct Support Professional(DSP): Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, ability to climb stairs, lift 50+lbs.
  • Early Learning Center: High School Diploma or GED

2. Do I need certifications to become a DSP?

  • No, we provide comprehensive training for success as a DSP.

3. What trainings are required and when do they take place?

  • DSP Certification includes CPR, First Aid, Safe Lifting, CPI, Med Core, and Relias (online).
  • All trainings are in the first week during our orientation, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 4:00pm.

4. Where can I apply for a job?

  • All positions are on our careers page with separate job numbers for location, hours, and type.

5. What happens after I apply?

  • Communication is via email, check regularly.
  • Upon submission, you'll receive an email confirmation.
  • Qualified candidates undergo background screenings.
  • If screenings pass, the Recruitment team contacts for the next steps.
  • Unfavorable screenings result in an email notification.

6. Do you have paper applications?

  • All applications are online for desktop and mobile use.

7. How are our positions classified?

  • Full Time employees are those regularly scheduled to work 30 hours or greater per week.
  • Part Time employees are those who are regularly scheduled to work less than 30 hours per week.
  • Substitutes - any position that does not have set scheduled hours.
    • Substitutes work in place of regularly scheduled employees but do have the option of working or not working when asked. Substitute employees must meet position requirements.

8. Which positions are Benefits Eligible?

  • Full Time - employees with a set schedule of 30 hours or more are eligible for PTO and Health Insurance.
  • Part Time - anyone with a set schedule of 20 hours, but less than 30 hours per week are eligible for PTO only.

  • Full and Part Time: $16.00/hr.
  • Substitutes:$15.00/hr

  • Bi-weekly

12. How do I know if I'm eligible for rehire?

  • Contact the HR Department at (260)355-0500 for eligibility.

13. If eligible for rehire, do I need to complete Orientation week?

  • Yes, all new hires, including rehires, complete orientation.

14. What are your hours?

  • Services provided 24/7; Office hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
